Have you ever had a thought of why some individuals always begin their day with a lot of energy and in a happy mood? It's not magic, nor is it luck. The reason is that they have some witty morning routines that prepare them to have a good mood throughout the day. You do not have to have sophisticated workouts and complex regimes. Even the most basic and daily routines, performed mindfully, can result to difference. Why Morning Rituals Matter

Your mornings are like a rocket-ship to your whole day. When you rush or worry in the morning you spend, then the first hour of your day will be like anxious state of mind. However, when you begin your day with little conscious rituals, you will create the same momentum that will continue until sleep.

Morning Routines to Be More Productive

The following are habits that can be embraced easily in the morning. Attempt to construct them one after the other, and discover which of them you can best suit.

1. Get Up Early and Sleep schedule

Wake your alarm at the same time every day- even on weekends. Mornings are usually serene and you could concentrate on yourself without the pressure of business taking in. A 15 minutes morning time is so quiet, it provides a head start and makes a difference.

2. Hydrate First Thing

The body gets dehydrated during night. Hence we must take an entire glass of water immediately after waking up. This provides a metabolism boost, aids in digestion, and, as well, makes you feel alert. I add a pinch of lemon or take a sip of warm water at times- it seems a fresh wash of the new day.

3. Move Your Body

There is no need to engage in hardcore exercise. Simple stretching or yoga of 10 minutes, or even a brisk walk will increase blood flow and make the mind sharper. Even a bit of motion serves to wake up tired muscles and bring about hours of vitality.Whenever I am under stress, I need not go far but just simple yoga poses or Sun Salutation will be enough to get me moving.

Even just 5-10 mins of deep breathe or a brief meditation will help your mind to stay relaxed and become more focused on. Try these alternative like you may sit and meditate or concentrate on breathing or you can listen to soft music. 

5. Plan and Prioritize Your Day

Write down three goals on your highest list of priorities in the day. This prevents the feeling that you are overwhelmed and makes you concentrated on what is important. I prefer to write my list on a sticker note and stick it in the vicinity of my work station- it is also very satisfying to cross out tasks accomplished. 

6. Practice Gratitude

The first one is to write down three things that you are thankful in your day. This is simple to say and it miracles to change your mind to a positive side. There are days when I am thankful that I get some calm time in the morning, there are days when I am thankful that I get to have a nice breakfast or my family to lean on. Gratitude will always helps reduce the stress and sets up your mind for happiness.

7. Have Healthy Breakfast

Missing breakfast burns out and makes you slow. Have a well-balanced food that contains protein, fibre, and healthy fats (such as oats, eggs, idli, smoothies or poha). A healthy breakfast is a brain and body food. When I miss breakfast, my mood and energy deplete very fast, therefore, a simple meal will be worth it up until evening.

  • Say Positive Whims: Repeating a simple phrase such as I am ready to have a productive day or Good things are coming my way will really make a difference when said with a conviction.
  • Take Your Tea or Coffee Just the Same: Have your morning tea slowly over the course of time. Take a bite, experience the aroma and be thankful to that moment before the rush sets in. 
  • Read or Listened to Something Uplifting: It can be as simple as reading a page in an inspirational book or reading a favourite song, but positive material introduces a good mood.
  • Get Morning Sunlight: Go outside and get the morning sun and have fresh air rejuvenate you. Sun rays elevate the mood and manage your sleep-wake cycle.
  • Clean a Little: Clean your work or bed It is added to that your mind becomes organised and prepared with a clean start. 

Simple Morning Routine in 30 Mins

  • 6:30 am: Wake up, drink water
  • 6:35 am: Stretch or light exercise
  • 6:45 am: Mindful breathing/ meditation
  • 6:55 am: Write three gratitudes
  • 7:00 am: Mindful tea/coffee and healthy breakfast.
  • 7:15 am: Write down the three priorities.
  • 7:25 am: Read or listen to positive music.
Make and edit according to your schedule and requirement-experiment with and combine rituals and find what fits.

Last Advice to establish Consistency

  • Don't try everything at once. One habit, a week, another, another.
  • Make your routine sticky notes, phone alarms or anything that works with you.
  • It is not the last day of your life when you miss one day. Revive and have fun.
  • Share your knowledge with your friends or family-sometimes it is easier to maintain something just because you have a friend to support you with your new habit.

A Personal Note

In the very beginning, I had the greatest difficulty waking up without switching on the alarm. But as soon as I activated the alarm on the other side of the room, that was compelling me to get up, no more excuses! A small victory was made every morning. On bad days, the easiest things such as gratitude and stretching helped me to move on. Making your own morning power, one step at a time.

Morning rituals are not merely a question of routine, but a question of giving oneself positivity and energy each and every day.
